Chapter 1
A teenager was walking down a trail in dark in a forest. He was a junior in high school. He was tall and thin, with brown hair. His name was Luke. He was steaming off from a fight he recently had with his mother. The fight was still ringing in his ears; the high-school principle had called the house. His mother had picked up the phone and the principle said he had detention for skipping part of English class.

"Damn them all," Luke muttered to himself. He kicked at pebblies as he strode angrily down the dark forest trail. "Damn the teacher, damn the principal, damn.... yeah, damn my mother for believing their crap and not letting me tell my side." He gave one more vicious kick which sent a small stone whizzing off into the darkness, and continued down the trail.

He thought how he had gotten framed. He was doing his homework in art class while the rest of the class was talking to themselves. Next thing he knew the teacher had walked into the room and accused Luke of dumping a bottle of glue behind his chair. Luke tried to plea with the teacher but, he wouldnt hear it. The art teacher made him stay after class to clean up the mess, thus making him late for his English class.

Luke took a deep breath and looked at the tree canopy. The tree canopy was vary large and the trees were close together. But he still saw the moon through various holes of the canopy. He noted that it was full, not that he cared. Luke started to walk again, not paying attion on where he was going. He was thinking that if he tried to exercsie, his problems wouldn’t look as big as he thought them to be.

A fog was building in the center of the forest. Various eyes peered at him, but Luke didn’t notice them, he was thinking.

Maybe I could convince Dianne, to let me off the hook, I mean after all, She might believe me, he thought, using his mother’s name (not feeling anywhere near to call her “mom”)
The thought seemed good to him, after all; when he stormed out of the house, his mother didn’t seem to know the whole story. The idea seemed okay to him, for now. He stopped again and looked around. He was in a clearing that seemed to be in the shape of an oval. Luke couldn’t tell, the fog was building around him.

He never had been this far into the forest before. He had been around the outskirts of the forest; but where he was now, he didn’t know. He turned around expecting to see the house lights in the distance, but he saw a series of trees that was getting foggier by the second. He guessed that he was a mile away from his house but he couldn’t really tell. He had been in such a hurry to get away from the house; he lost his sense of time. He glanced at his watched he barely made out the time. 10:24PM, it showed. He had left his house at 10:00PM when the principle had called. He wondered why the damn principle would call his house this late.

A twig snapped. The sound came from behind him. He turned around expecting to see a deer or any wild animal, but he didn’t see anything. The twig hadn’t been far off, maybe a few feet away from where he stood now. But the fog was swirling around him now. He couldn’t see the tree’s from which he came.

A growling noise came from behind him. He swung around but saw nothing, his heart started to beat faster. A foot step came from behind him, but before he could turn around, something bit him on the shoulders.

He felt jaws tearing his shoulders and he felt claws digging in his arms. He yelled in agony as the blood came out of his wounds. He tried to jerk away but what ever had him wouldn’t let go.
A gun shot sounded in the distance. The darkness of death was getting closer and his vision was getting blurry. The shot had cause the creature to let go of Luke. Luke dropped to the ground. His vision faded and he black out.
