Book Review – Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause
Saturday, January 24th, 2009My Rating: 8/10
Who says that chocolate is sweeter than blood, or blood is sweeter than chocolate? A young female werewolf, named Vivian, has to make that decision, but at a dreadful cost. Who will she choose. The all-mighty Alpha or the sweet human boy? If she chooses one, she will forever lose the other.
This book title striked me as odd when I passed it on the self of our school library. It was just the fact that you don’t see the words “blood” or “chocolate” in the same sentence together. Not unless the sentence said something like “Blood doesn’t taste anything like chocolate.” Besides that I was intrigued and I checked it out. This is one of those books that you just can’t stop reading until you are done; and when you are done, you wish you had more…. As some people know, I am a slow reader. So this took me about a day to read.
The girl in this book seemed to have slightly different problems than a normal teenager. She has to worry about a boy and protect him, becoming a wife to a alpha werewolf, deal with her young nymphomania cousins, and looking good all at once. For a normal teenager girl it would be, polish nails, brush hair, crimp eye brows, “OMG I broke a nail and there goes my period.” It is interesting how Annette wrote the book. I highly recommend this book.
