Writing On Black Tape by Michelle W. – Chapter Four

Chapter 4- Chelsea

Beth blinked and was back on her bed and the teddy was soaked in something black; everyone was staring at her like she was crazy. Beth squeezed her eyes and held onto her neck. Nathaniel was the first one to talk, “What did you just do?”

Beth continued to rub her neck as tears swelled up, “Nothing.”

Joanne stood there, wide eyed and speechless. Daniel pulled a chair out and said, “There is definitely something odd about you.”

Gary sat on the floor against the wall and said, “I may have seen into your soul, but that was all about your past. Your little episode you just had, well you haven’t had one before, have you?”

Beth continued to rub her neck, “Why won’t my neck stop hurting?”

“What do you mean, nothing happened to your neck,” Nathaniel said, sitting down on her bed and scooting closer to her.

Beth shook her head, “Nothing. What did you guys see?”

“Nothing, we were talking and suddenly you just…went blank. Your body was cold and we thought you had died. If you were breathing, we couldn’t tell. What did you do?” Daniel replied.

“Nothing, I laid down and closed my eyes and…never mind. It’s crazy, insane,” Beth said looking down at her bear and got up, “Excuse my Gary, I need to go to the bathroom and get a towel.”

Gary shook his head, “You’re not getting out of here untill you tell us what we want to know,” Gary said not moving an inch.

Beth pulled on the door, “Gary just move, I won’t be gone long, I need to clean up my bear, who knows how long till that black stuff becomes permanent.”

Gary looked at Joanne who nodded, “He’s right. You need to tell us everything, right now.”

Beth shook her head, “No. Now get out.”

Daniel went up to Beth and pulled her back then pushed her on to bed, “Tell us. Now.”

Beth held tighter onto the bear, “Why?”

Nathaniel scooted over to her and put his hand on the bear, “Maybe we can help.” Beth pushed him away and punched him in the gut. Nathaniel fell off the bed and stood up slowly, “What the hell was that for?!”

“Don’t touch my bear,” Beth said staring angrily at him.

Joanne jumped at Beth and pinned her down on the bed, “Do you honestly think you can beat us? It’s five against one.”

“Correction, four against one,” Beth said pushing her off of her, still holding the bear close.

Joanne took out a cigarette and started to smoke, “I got what I wanted. Guys look at her neck.”

Daniel crept up to the bed, holding his hands out, “I won’t touch your bear, just let me have a look on your neck.”

“Why?” Beth said covering the spot where she had been bitten.

Joanne exhaled, “She has the mark.”

Nathaniel swallowed, “Are you sure it’s the mark?”

Joanne shrugged, “I only got a quick look at it. She didn’t have it before though, I remember looked at weak spots when we were sitting together the first day she came here.”

Daniel sat on the bed, “I just need to see it, I won’t hurt you.”

Beth glared at him, “I’m not some dumb animal or toy. You can speak normally to me.”

Daniel sat down beside her, “I know that but the way you hit Nathaniel so suddenly, it has all of nervous. Now please let me look at your neck.”

Beth continued to cover it, “This is where that thing bit me. Gah, I wish it would stop stinging.”

Nathaniel sighed, “Joanne I really hope your wrong.”

Gary stood up and sighed, “Girl, you’re too much trouble.”

“What thing?” Daniel asked eyeing her neck.

Beth began to fidget a little bit, “When I had what you guys call an episode. Something bit my neck and said ‘revenge is paid in more than one way, and you’re getting bowl full of it’ that dumb thing, gah, I wish it wouldn’t have bitten me.”

“Revenge is paid in more than one way and you’re getting a bowl full of it? What’s that supposed to mean?” Daniel asked still eyeing her neck.

Beth shrugged, “I don’t know but it bit me way hard.”

Daniel reached up to her neck and slowly pulled her hand off of her neck, “Just a peek.” Beth got tense but said nothing as he did this. Daniel looked at where she was bitten. He could clearly see the two bite marks but around them was red numbers saying ‘666’ the spot where she was bitten was black but you could tell the bite marks were recent. The middle six had a dark purple swirling with blue where black was on the other two. Daniel gasped and pulled back, “How did you get that?”

Beth swallowed hard, “What do you mean? How did I get what?”

“You have his mark on your neck, but it wasn’t there when we checked your pulse when you had your episode and yet its there, right now.”

Nathaniel’s eyes widened and got in front of Beth and looked at her neck and pouted, “You belong to him now.”

Beth squinted and shook her head as she stood up on her bed, stepping around them she got off the bed, “I don’t belong to nobody.”

Joanne shook her head, “Damn your clueless.”

Daniel sat there and took out a piece of gum and began to chew it as he asked, “What does the purple and blue mean though?”

Joanne shrugged, “Could mean anything like he already has control over her and this is just a fake thing and she doesn’t even realize it. It could mean she was willingly taken under his control. Anything is possible.”

Nathaniel smiled and jumped up, “It could mean that she isn’t under his control and that he is having trouble with her. And that means she can still be on our side!!”

Gary nodded, “Both possibilities are plausible.”

Beth shook her head, “I am not clueless. I have not lived in a sheltered home, in fact its quite the opposite.”

Joanne rolled her eyes, “When I said clueless I meant that you don’t know anything about the war going on between heaven and hell. They used to fight between old guys or young children or mothers and fathers. They used to put families against each other but now they’ve realized that teens are the best to their advantage. We are younger, full of more energy, aren‘t restricted by rules that much, don‘t have bills to pay. There has been a war between Jesus and Satan and we are their pawns. Humans like me and you.”

Beth rolled her eyes and said sarcastically, “Sure, that’s believable.”

Daniel nodded, “It’s true. Ever since mankind begun its been that way. Of course we die for them, but we are the only things that can get to the other without a penalty. Humans are both good and bad, both live in our souls. We can get close to Jesus or Satan if we choose. And we can harm Jesus and Satan.”

Beth laughed and went back to rubbing her neck, “You guys are funny. Nathaniel tried this on me. You guys verses Jill and whoever is evil on her side. A silly school team thing.”

Gary shook his head, “Each of us has a unique power to cause enemy’s harm. Mine, well you know what mine is, you and I both felt it. You felt power against me and I got weakened from when you were younger.”

Joanne looked at Gary, “Hold up, how much do you know about her?”

“Till she was about seven years old. That’s when the worst things happened, atleast that’s as far as I was able to go.”

Beth smirked and shook her head, “Then you’ve just barely grasped about me. What you saw when I was six and seven was just barely the beginning. At eleven is when it gets a lot…worse and…well, you know what I mean.”

Gary gasped, “Are you saying you still do that stuff to people?”

Beth shrugged, “I almost came to doing them a few times since I’ve been here.”

Gary shook his head, “You should be in Jail.”

Beth smiled, “And yet, I’m not.”

Nathaniel looked at Beth and at Gary, “Why should she be in jail?”

Gary growled at her, “You’re luck you’ve always had a good excuses and your lucky I can’t tell them.”

Joanne looked at Gary then at Beth, “Don’t worry Nathaniel, we’ll get it out of her soon.”

Beth shook her head, “It’s not as bad as you think Gary, I’ve gotten better.”

“Better at what-” Gary tried to say the next word but couldn’t manage to.

Beth shrugged, “Defense Gary, and you know that’s what happened when I was five. I had every right to do what I did. I no longer feel guilty.”

Daniel watched them argue then said, “Okay guys, shut up. Beth tell us what happened in your episode.”

Beth rolled her eyes, “Why? So you guys can send me to a mental hospital and say that I killed Chelsea?”

Nathaniel shook his head, “No so we can help you. So we can tell if you’re really on their side or ours or just an unfortunate normal.”

“An unfortunate normal? You people are insane,” Beth said sitting down, holding her bear tight.

Daniel shook his head, “No, not at all. We really do want to help and from the sounds of it, you are very clueless as to the war and to what’s going on with your body.”

“Nothing is going on with my body. My episodes started when I came here. Nathaniel saw the effects of the first one, the bite on my leg and the burn on my arm.”

Nathaniel looked at her confused, “I did?”

“Yea you even said so yourself, one minute it was there and the next it wasn’t,” Beth said looking at her arm.

Nathaniel nodded, “That’s true.”

“How many episodes have you had?” Joanne asked as took out another cigarette.

“Just two. That one time when Nathaniel noticed and this one,” Beth replied sticking her nose into the bear and inhaled deeply then gagged and dropped the bear.

“What were they about?” Gary asked.

“Completely different things. One dealt with school and the other dealt with darkness,” Beth said poking her bear.

“Could you please tell us about it?” Nathaniel asked.

Beth looked away, “I told Chelsea about the first episode and she disappeared or died.”

“That won’t happen to us,” Joanne said, “If you tell us then we know what to look for and will be careful and that we can avoid it.”

Beth sighed, “If it matters that much then fine. But when you die, it won’t be on me.”

Daniel smiled, “Thank god.”

Beth sighed and said, “I was sitting here and I laid back and closed my eyes then opened them and suddenly I was in dark room. I think there was snakes crawling across the floor and I felt slobber all over my foot. So I ran backwards and bumped into a wall and I felt arms wrap around me, not letting me move. And then I heard it say what I told you earlier and it bit me then dropped me and the next thing I know, I’m here and you guys are all staring at me.”

Daniel thought about this and shook his head, “That’s weird. When that happened your body like when limp and dead. We were all scared and about to call your foster parents.”

Joanne laughed, “That’s not possible, you didn’t leave this room.”

Beth shook her head, “It happened, you asked and I told. So don’t even start on me.”

Nathaniel nodded, “That’s true.”

Beth sighed and hit the wall, “Humph, this all stupid.”

Gary said quietly, “It’s like astral projection.”

“Huh?” Beth asked.

“Astral projection. Like when your spirit leaves your body and it goes somewhere else, that what it sounds like. It sounds like that happened to you,” Gary said louder for all to hear him.

“Astral projection? I never thought of that but it is possible. That might be what your power is,” Daniel said.

“I don’t have any power. I can’t control it, it just happens at random times and each time I get hurt,” Beth said angrily.

Joanne rolled her eyes, “Sure.”

Beth grabbed pulled a drawer out of the desk and through it at Joanne, “Get the hell out and leave me alone.”

Joanne held her hand up and caught the drawer in a beam of white light and put the drawer down on the floor, “Don’t try that stuff on me. I’m not easily surprised.”

Beth’s eyes widened, “How did you do that?”

“God’s warrior. I was lucky, I got this power,” Joanne said smiling.

Daniel laughed, “That was unexpected from the both of you.”

Nathaniel nodded, “Yea but it was funny.”

Gary nodded, “Now I think we need to find out what Beth’s power is and we need to train her and keep her on our side.”

Beth groaned and hit her head against the wall, “I am not on nobody’s side and I don’t need no training.”

Daniel nodded, “I agree with Gary, she needs to be trained and on our side.”

Joanne through her hands up in the air, “I don’t know what to do with her. She has his mark, she might be on his side. But then again she might not be. I don’t wanna keep her around if she is indeed against us but I also want her on our side because she could make us stronger. Satan’s helper against him,” she smiled, “That would throw him off balance and damn that would make us stronger. But what if she really did kill Chelsea, what if she is waiting to kill us all? But is it worth it?”

Beth shook her head, “You’re thinking too much. Have you considered what I want?”

Joanne shook her head, “Nope because what you want doesn’t matter. Your fate is based on us and on God and Satan.”

Beth groaned, “I hate you.”

Daniel laughed, “Wow. Well Joanne I understand your worries but its not only what you think. We all need to discuss this and what Beth says does go into this.”

Joanne shook her head, “No, Beth has absolutely no say in this.”

In unison Gary and Nathaniel said, “I agree with Daniel.”

Joanne groaned, “But why does she have a say in it?”

“Because its my future we are talking about!” Beth yelled.

“Beth clam down, chill, relax. No loud noises, we don’t want your foster parents to come up here and hear what we are talking about,” Daniel said calmly.

Nathaniel nodded, “Beth, no attracting attention to yourself.”

Gary nodded, “Beth you are…not…well…just stay out of trouble don’t do what you have done when you were younger.”

“That wasn’t my fault,” stiffly Beth said.

Gary shrugged, “I say it is, but whatever.”

“So what are we going to do about her?” Joanne said angrily.

“Take her to the party tonight and see what happens. We need to find out why and how she has these episodes plus you know what the party is a cover up for. If she’s there and able to see what happens during the fight then we’ll know that might be one of us,” Daniel said spitting his gum out into his hand and making it disappear.

“You guys organize your fights?” Beth asked hiding a giggle.

Joanne rolled her eyes, “No dumbo. Jesus and Satan do but only at rare times. Like when someone new is entering one of their teams or if someone has a possibility of joining their team.”

“One day I will kill you,” Beth said smiling.

“Killing isn’t a joking matter,” Gary said.

“I’ve done it before,” Beth said then gasped and covered her mouth with both hands.

Gary laughed, “Oh dang girl, you fell right into that one!! Now they all know that you have killed…people.”

Nathaniel’s eyes widened, “What!?”

Daniel’s jaw dropped. And Joanne nodded, “I knew it, you’re a cold blooded kill her.”

Beth shrugged, “People make me angry, I hurt them. I never meant to kill them, except for my step father…but he was a completely different story. Anyways, I never intended for anyone to die, it just happened. I jabbed the pencil in a wrong end or something, or even in the arm and somehow they would die. At first I felt guilty but now…now I don’t.”

“How many have you killed?” Nathaniel asked sadly.

“What did they do to make you kill them and why was your step father a different story?” Daniel asked.

“I don’t know. And they touched my teddy bear, teased me, hit me, beat me up, broke a bone or I just plain didn’t like them. And he was a different story because I had purposely meant to kill him,” Beth said, “He was the only one I ever meant to kill. And Gary you know that I had a great reason.”

Gary frowned and nodded, “That you did but why didn’t you go to the police or tell your mom?”

“My mom saw it happening and you know that. I had to stop him, he had killed my baby brother, it’s his teddy bear I take everywhere with me. He was the only one who stood up to daddy. He told daddy to stop hurting me and touching me in places a dad shouldn’t. Daddy killed him with his own teddy bear. When I saw that, I went over the cliff and killed him.”

Nathaniel was speechless and Daniel was amazed, “What exactly did your step father do to you?”

Beth looked away and sadly replied, “He raped me, molested me, beat me, stabbed me, cut me, threw me against walls, made me clean and cook. He’d stick mud down my shirt and tease me and laugh at me when I fell. He’d lock me up in a cellar for days without food or water. He’d make me eat bugs for food. He push me out in the winter naked and have me standing there waiting for the ‘blanket man’ to come to give me blankets. The ‘blanket man’ never came. I’d be out there for so long I was blue all over. Then he push me back inside and laugh at me and tease me and call me names and say how he hated me. The whole time my mother would just watch and when she asked him to stop, he’d slap her and say ‘I love you and I love her, I’m just doing it for her’ and then she would shut her mouth and watch me get tortured….

“My little brother was the only one willing to stand up to him. When dad would lock me down in the cellar, he would sneak me down food and when he left me outside my brother would give me his clothes or stand out there with me as he we waited. The man drank all the time and did drugs. He rarely went to work so my mom did. I was left alone with him when my brother got sent to daycare. For two years I was without my brother to protect me, but that day when brother came home, he saw my step dad having a shower with me in his lap and me crying, trying to get away. My brother stood up and had asked him what he was doing and when he said nothing, my brother asked me. And I begged my brother to help me get out. So that’s what he did. And my dad killed him with the bear that my brother had been holding,” Beth finished and her chin was held out stubbornly and she was holding back tears.

Nathaniel ran up to her and hugged her tightly, “I’m so sorry to hear that.”

Beth pushed him away, “I don’t need your pity. I killed the man and my mother. Then burried my brother in his favorite spot on the yard and cried over his grave. For days I did nothing but cry over it but then Ann Ply, that’s my foster police person.”

Joanne stood there wide eyed and finally said, “Wow, that’s a big secret.”

Beth nodded, “Mhmm.”

Daniel finally held his hand up, “Okay, how did a five year old kill an old man?”

Nathaniel nodded, “That’s a good question, how did you kill him?”

Gary looked at them, “That’s one weird thing.”

Joanne nodded, “Yea, how did you do that!?”

Beth shrugged, “When he went to get my brother I fell off of him and hit the tub, oddly enough a piece broke and I grabbed it then charged at him and hit him in the leg. He fell and I reached up for the tooth brush as he reached for me. I managed to grab it and it was balancing on a glass cup the went flying against the wall and broke. I took the toothbrush and stabbed him in the eye. He screamed and I pulled it out and stabbed him in the eye over and over again. He held his eye with one hand and he grabbed me with the other. He yelled something that I couldn’t understand he started to pull me by my shoulder.

“I slipped on water and fell. I started to bleed from my head but ignored the pain and found a large piece of glass from the broken cup and I stabbed him repeatedly. I ran into the kitchen when he let go of me. He fallowed me, he wouldn’t die so I jumped on him and stabbed him anywhere I could reach, well I finally hit a vein in his neck. He finally died.”

Daniel’s eyes widened, “Wow, you were lucky then.”

Joanne nodded and growled, “I still hate you.”

Nathaniel reached over and slowly hugged Beth, “I’m sorry to hear that Thing’s like that shouldn’t happen to good people.”

Beth stiffed up but said nothing. Daniel shook his head and shrugged, “I have absolutely no idea of what to do with that information.”

Joanne groaned out of frustration, “Oh my goodness, what are we, what am I going to do?”

Beth shrugged, “Do nothing and leave me alone.”

Nathaniel shook his head as he hugged her still, “We can’t do that. You have his mark on you and just…you are one very complicated girl.”

Beth shrugged, “Not my fault…well part of it is, but not all of it.”

Gary shrugged and said, “I say we take her out tonight and go to the party. Maybe we can find something about Chelsea too.”

Joanne put her cigarette out and tossed the bud out in the yard, “Sounds good. Maybe the killer will finally admit to what she’s done with the body,” Joanne then pushed Gary aside and left.

Gary fallowed her and Daniel smiled weakly and whispered, “I don’t think you would kill Chelsea,” he then got up and left.

Nathaniel pulled back from hugging and stuck his hand down his pocket, “I got something for you.”

“What now?” Beth asked looking at his hands.

Nathaniel pulled out Chelsea’s necklace and a small box but then he put the box away and handed her Chelsea’s necklace, “I stole it from Joanne. Figured out you’d want this back, and I really do believe you. I’m not leaving with them, I’m staying here and Daniel knows that. He’ll tell them.”

Beth took it and held it close to her heart, “Oh thank you so much. I’ve felt so bad since it was ripped from my neck,” she then embraced him in a tight but only for a short second and pulled back, “Umm, yea thanks…why are you staying here?”

“To keep you company and to keep you safe,” Nathaniel said smiling.

Beth rolled her eyes, “Do you think I killed Chelsea?”

Nathaniel shook his head, “Not in the least bit. I know you didn’t. You’re heart is too kind.”

Beth laughed and smiled, “Thanks for the kind words, but you can’t possible believe that after knowing I’ve killed both my step dad and my mom and a lot of other people.”

Nathaniel shrugged, “I do believe them and I don’t care if you did or didn’t.”

“Why?” Beth asked looking at him in bewilderment.

Nathaniel smiled, “People can redeem themselves. Plus you were five years old. Gimme a break. You were scared, alone, you saw the only one who ever cared about you dead and you killed the man who killed your brother. It’s understandable. At least…to me it is.”

Beth shook her head and sighed, “Your heart is too big and you’re too kind. But I wish everyone else understood me like you do right now.”

Nathaniel laughed, “My heart is not big and I am not kind. I just…I’m just a fool.”

“Why would you say that? Your not in the least bit a fool. Your kind, sensitive, nice, wonderful and just…wow. A dream guy.”

“That’s what makes me fool. I go after what I can’t have,” Nathaniel replied.

“That doesn’t make you a fool, it makes you a love bird, or a teddy bear. A big…” Beth looked away blushing and shook her head, “Umm just…god, your not a fool so don’t say you are.”

Nathaniel laughed, “Okay okay okay! I won’t say I’m a fool but you gotta kiss me to prove it.”

Beth shook her head and scooted away from him, “No. I’m not going to allow myself to get any closer to you then I already am. We are just friends, please, please can we just leave it at that?”

Nathaniel sighed and looked away, “And that’s why I’m a fool.”

Beth shook her head, “You’re not a fool. You’re just…determined.”

“Determined?” Nathaniel asked unsure.

Beth nodded, “Very determined and unsure.”

“Unsure? Unsure of what?” Nathaniel asked.

“Of what you’re doing and just…you’re just unsure of me and what I’m doing and on whether or not you trust me,” Beth said yawning.

Nathaniel shook his head, “I’m very sure and I do trust you and I do know that there is good in you. Whether you and or anyone else deny it. I know you’re trustable and dependable.”

Beth sighed, “But why?”

“Because you do have good in you and I can feel it, I can just tell,” Nathaniel said as he smiled.

Beth sighed, “Whatever you say.”

Nathaniel looked out the window, “Only a few more hours till we see what you can do.”

Beth groaned and picked up her bear, “I can’t do nothing, okay!? I’m just an unfortunate normal with a sad past. I don’t have any powers and that’s the way its staying. I’m not on nobody’s side. I just know about those things. Ain’t nobody going to bride me to their side. I’m on my own side, with no powers.”

“You know just as well as I do, a five year old wouldn’t and shouldn’t be able to kill a fifty year old man and her mother all in the same night. They would stop from terror and being scared of what would happen to them.”

“That’s where unfortunate normal with a sad past comes in the picture.”

“Think of it this way. Five year olds don’t even know the meaning of death in the first place and have not in the least bit idea of how to kill a person and even if they did, they’d probably cry afterwards and go to an adult and say that their mommy and daddy died. You didn’t. You killed him with the intention of killing him. You didn’t know how to kill him but you used your resources and someone or something had to have been there helping you, giving you that extra boost of luck so that you could kill them.”

Beth flicked him in the back of the head, “Are you saying either God or Satan lent me some extra luck so that I could kill my step dad and mom?”

Nathaniel rubbed the spot where he was hit, “That’s exactly what I’m saying. But I’m questioning and wondering, why they would do that.”

Beth slapped the back of his head, “Damn your imagination gets out of hand. Have you ever had your brain examined?”

Nathaniel rubbed his head, “Ow!! Stop that!! And why can’t you just accept the truth? The truth that you might not just be a little unfortunate girl. That underneath it all your still that scared five year old wanting a loving mom and dad. That although you’ve killed those two and others, that you still live for revenge; and that God and or Satan might be there helping you, egging you on to continue. That humans aren’t the rulers of the universe, that there are greater beings than us. That we aren’t at the top of the food chain.”

Beth got in front of him and slapped his cheek, “How dare you talk to me like that. I don’t know what you’re talking about. I grew up the day that man touched me, the day that man killed my baby brother.”

“Why won’t you say your baby brother’s name? Why can’t you just accept the fact that fate is leading you elsewhere and that you’re life isn’t going according to your plan?”

Beth punched him in the gut, “Shut up!! Shut up!! Just shut up!!!”

Nathaniel bent over holding his stomach and spat up some blood, “I won’t. You need to hear this from someone who cares.”

Tears began to burn Beth’s eyes, “I could kill you right now and I wouldn’t think about it later on at all. You’re just another jerk to me, all of the human race is.”

Nathaniel looked up at her and reached up and touched her cheek, which she swatted away, “You won’t kill me, you and I both know that.”

Beth pulled out a pocket knife and tackled him to the floor as tears began to fall down. She held the knife to his neck, “I can and I will. Don’t challenge me Nathaniel. You don’t know me, you don’t know anything about me and how I am. You know that I killed my father. I killed a janitor at school, I’ve killed police officers, I once killed a governor and almost killed the president. My heart died the day my brother died, all that is there now is just a cold black whole. I will kill you if I have to.”

Nathaniel looked at her and smiled weakly, “Do what you have to Beth. If you choose to kill me, I won’t stop you. I won’t warn you about what the others will do if they find out you killed me,” he held his hands up, “I swear I won’t stop you Beth.”

Beth pushed harder against his neck, breaking the skin, “Don’t tease me. I’m not in the mood.”

“I’m not teasing you!! I just told you what you needed to hear and I asked why,” Nathaniel said looking into her eyes.

Beth looked back into his eyes as tears fell and she kept the pressure, “Shut up Nathaniel. You’re a liar. You want me to kill you, you want everyone to know that I’m a killer. Well guess what!? They already know!!”

As Nathaniel looked into Beth’s eyes he saw empty blackness, he noticed that there was no eye color at all and sighed, “Fine, you caught me. You win, we all know you’re a killer. You had no right to kill that man and you need to go to jail. You didn’t love your mother or father. You don’t even know who your real father is or if your ‘little’ brother even is your real younger brother.”

Beth was caught by surprise and her eyes widened. Nathaniel smiled and rolled over on top of her, squeezed her wrist and took the knife away then tossed it aside. Beth kicked and hit his face with her elbow. Nathaniel sighed and held her hands down. Beth growled at him, trying to bite him, “I will kill you. You may have caught me by surprise but your demise will come soon and swiftly. Trust me.”

Nathaniel shook his head and looked at her, “Beth I didn’t want it to come to this. I don’t want to be killed and I don’t want to arrest you but what you did was wrong. Maybe you’re the one who needs to be killed.”

Beth’s eyes widened and she gasped and shook her head, “Please, please, please don’t hurt me.”

Nathaniel smiled, “Why not?”

Beth looked away, “I don’t know. I know I deserve to be killed and that I’ve killed many others but I’m afraid of death. I’m afraid of what comes after it.”

Nathaniel sighed heavily, “What am I going to do with you?”

“Now you sound like Joanne.”

“So? What does that matter?” Nathaniel said stubbornly.

“She hates me and is very and utterly annoying.”

Nathaniel sighed, “Fine, whatever. Are you back to normal?”

Beth nodded, “Yea, sorry about that whole killing you thing. I don’t know whate over came me.”

Nathaniel got off of her, “Neither do I. You were acting like yourself, more like something…something was controlling you.”

Beth stood up and looked out the window, “I know, when I’m angry, I don’t feel like myself and that time I couldn’t control how upset I got so I threatened you. I’m truly sorry.”

Nathaniel went up behind her and patted her back, “It’s okay Beth. It happens to the best of us.”

“It does?”

“Yep, it just makes us human.”

“Well I’m tired of it, I’m tired of not knowing who or what I am. I’m tired of seeing things and not knowing if they’re real or not.”

“You see things?”

Beth nodded, “You know when Gary and Joanne kissed and I told you how I thought the principal walked by?”

Nathaniel nodded, “Yea, that was weird.”

“Well…the principal was also kinda a big green monster.”

“Kinda a big green monster?”

Beth nodded, “Sounds crazy, I know.”

“How long has this been happening?”

“Umm that was the only time and it never happened before I came here.”

“Wow, so like this place really does…have an effect on you?”

“Yea, it does and it sucks. I don’t know if I’m good or bad or what I’m supposed to do. This isn’t the life I would have chosen for anybody.”

“You don’t choose your life, it’s just given to you and you must accept that fact.”

“Humph. So tell me about this party of your guys that’s just a cover up for a fight.”

“It’s like any other party.”

“How so?”

“There’s beer, alcohol, drugs, dancing, food, you know? Those kind of things.”

“I meant about the fight.”

“Oh, well we basically just fight.”

“Fist fight or hand to hand or punches or slaps or what?”

“Oh, well it’s kinda like both. We use our powers given to us and throw some punches along the way. We have to make it look like a real teenager fight, not a fight from the heavens.”

Beth rolled her eyes, “Sure, like they don’t have adults on their side to stop you guy’s from being arrested.”

Nathaniel sighed and hit his head against the window glass, “Why don’t you believe in this? I mean you’re probably the main reason for this. So you can pick whose side you want to be on and what your going to do.”

“I’m not on nobody’s side. I’m on my own side, and nobody is gonna change it.”

“You’re going to have to accept it and you’re going to have to understand and choose.”

“I won’t and will not. I don’t care what you or anybody else says.”

Nathaniel sighed, “Don’t be so stubborn.”

“Why not?” Beth said opening the window.

“Because it’ll do nothing but cause trouble for you. You can’t stop what’s already in the making,”

“Oh my god, you are so annoying. Stop preaching to me.”

Nathaniel leaned out of the window, “Have you ever tried climbing up on the roof?”

Beth shook her head and pulled back, “No, why?”

“Because it would be fun.”

“Stop changing the subject on me. It isn’t…”she sighs, “Why do you insist on preaching me?”

“I don’t insist on preaching you and I don’t. I’m just telling you so that Joanne doesn’t get all mad at you and stuff. Now give me a boost when I need it,” Nathaniel replied as he reached up to the side of the wall and climbed out with his feet on the window sill.

“How am I supposed to do that? And why are you always trying to look out for me? I can take care of myself,” Beth said as she watched him.

Nathaniel climbed reached up for a piece of wood and started to climb up, “Hey this isn’t that hard. Oh wow, it’s going to be so cool on the top. I’m not actually that far.”

“Stop changing the subject on me.”

“I’m not, you didn’t ask me a question so I’m just telling you about how it is up here so that you will come up here to. We can give those freak of foster parents of yours a scare.”

Beth rolled her eyes, “Oh my god, you are so annoying.”

“And yet I’m the reason you’ve lasted this far. I take care of you and make sure you’re okay so get up and out of your bedroom,” Nathaniel said as he reached up for the root top and started to pull himself up on it. Once on the roof he leaned over and looked down, “Come on scardy cat.”

Beth looked out the window, “I don’t wannna.”

“Why not?”

“Because…because…I just don’t want to.”

“Chicken butt.”

“I am not.”

“Then prove it!!!” Beth started to climb out of the window and reached up to a piece of wood and started to climb out but her hand slipped and she hit her back against the wall and let out a yell. Nathaniel gasped and reached down, “Bethany!!! Are you okay?” Beth’s eyes flashed black and suddenly she jumped out of the window and started to crawl up the side of the wall. Nathaniel stood up and walked backwards, “Beth…I’m sorry, please calm down and relax.”

“I could have died!!! You’re stupid idea of climbing up here, aren’t you just the brilliant minded freak?!” Beth screeched at him.

Nathaniel held his hands up, “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that you would slip. I was wrong to have forced you and to have called you a chicken butt. I was wrong, please forgive me.”

Beth stood there, leaning over him and watched him as her eyes flashed back to normal, “Oh my god, how did I make it up here?” She blinked and looked over then gasped and sat down, “No standing up anymore for me.”

“Are you okay? Are you back to normal?” Nathaniel asked watching her closely.

Beth eyes flashed black, “I can go back to being mad if you really want me to.”

Nathaniel shook his head, “No, not at all. I won’t say anything else, I promise.”

Beth’s eyes flashed back to normal, “Okay, thanks. I’m sorry if I scared you.”

Nathaniel shook his head, “You are definitely one confusing person. But I like that about you, there’s a lot of mysteriousness to it which is wonderful.”

“Wonderful for who? You or me?” Beth said with a smile.

Nathaniel grinned, “For both of us.”

“How so?”

“Well it’s good for me because that means…well it means a lot of bad things mostly but it’s good because I really like that about you. And it’s good for you because that means you’ll have me chasing you down till I figure you out.”

Beth pouted, “But then once you find out about me, you’ll leave,” Beth then giggles, “Not that I care if you leave me alone.”

“You have a lot of mood swings.”

“I have a lot of things to hide from the world, I wish I could keep up my shield but you just….ugh, you just…destroy them. It’s not right. I don’t want to and I don’t need to like you, yet I do. And it’s driving me insane.”

Nathaniel fell back laughing, “That’s a good thing for me. Well bad and good but mostly good. Maybe next time I’ll be able to kiss you and you won’t freak.”

Beth groaned, “Okay forget about me and my problems. Why did you act why when I first met you but now you’re all prince charming and not shy and all confident?”

“That was part of the plan when we meet people. I act shy and if they don’t like how one of us acts then they leave on their own, or we make them leave. Joanne acted nice which she usually isn’t. Daniel, well he acted like himself and Gary, well he acted like a goofball which he isn’t.”

“So you guys switch attitudes to see how people react?”

Nathaniel nodded and sat up, “You didn’t seem to care so that part of walking beside you and blushing, well it was fake. Don’t ask me how but I have ways of making myself blush when needed. That just sorta like an extra test which you passed.”

Beth rolled her eyes, “Lucky me.”

“Why are you so such a drama queen, well…not drama queen but…moody and emotional.”

“I’ve always been this way. I’m happy then sad then pissed and angry and then I’m giggly. Just mood swings, I’m way worse on my period.”

“Thanks, I really needed to know that,” Nathaniel said sarcastically.

“Well you asked so I told you,” Beth said watching him.

Nathaniel bit his tongue then said, “I asked about why you have mood swings, not about your period.”

“Hey, I was just warning you, your welcome.”

“I didn’t need to be warned.”

Beth laughed, “But hey, that just means I’m not preggy.”

Nathaniel groaned, “God…blessed. You’re insane.”

“Don’t forget mysterious,” Beth said with a smile.

Nathaniel hit her arm, “Darn you for attracting me.”

Beth stared at him like he was stupid, “It’s not my fault. And don’t hit me. Or I will hit you back. I’m not like other girls.”

“I know, I know, I know. You killed your step-father and your real mom. And you might be related to Seth, who died in our war, which you are going to be part of.”

Beth glared at him, “I’m not exactly proud of what I did and I have no idea how I did it.”

Nathaniel looked up at the sky, “Soon we’re going to have to go. And then we will find out whose warrior you are and which side you will be on.”

Beth groaned, “I’m not anybody’s warrior and I ain’t on nobody’s side. Why don’t you understand?”

Nathaniel sighed, “Because it’s true. The only time there are arranged fights are when a newcomer is joining someone’s side. There was an arranged fight when I came. And I’m sure there was one when Joanne, Gary and Daniel arrived too…I was like you once but that arranged fight completely changed my mind.”

Beth rolled her eyes and said sarcastically, “Sure there were and I’m angel from Satan.”

Nathaniel’s eyes widened, “You are?”

“Oh my god, you’re an idiot. I’m not angel for Satan or God. I’m just a girl with a sad past who belongs in jail, a girl who can’t control her emotions.”

Nathaniel sighed, “Don’t say that about yourself.”

“Don’t say what? That’s the truth.”

“You don’t belong in jail and so what if you can’t control your emotions. It’s what makes you special.”

“Yes I do Nathaniel. You don’t understand. My step-father and my mom were just the beginning. I’ve killed many other people over stupid reasons. Touching my bear, looking at me wrong or doing something as simple as disobeying me. And each time, I wasn’t caught, something else happened to make it not appear to be me. I’d simple stab them in the arm and they’d die. I’ve killed many people Nathaniel.”

Nathaniel covered his ears, “I don’t want to hear that.”

Beth took a hold of his hands and took them away from his ears, “It’s all true Nathaniel. Nobody is safe around me. Gary only saw the worst thing I did which was killing my mother, I tried not to kill her but I did anyways. I couldn’t stop. She had ran in and she looked healthier and better than ever. She had came in saying something about me and her and my brother leaving him. She ran into the kitchen and saw him trying to hurt me. She tried to stop him but then I misunderstood and stabbed her. She screamed and cried.

“She tried to stop him, which helped me a little bit but I didn’t see it that way. I saw it as her taking my kill, taking away the man, as helping him so that she could kill me. My little five year old mind went crazy and once he was dead I went after her. I mistook her tears of joy that he was gone as her crying because I had killed him. I thought she was against me.

“Inside I knew that she wasn’t on drugs and that she was healthy and she just looked a lot better and more confident but I couldn’t stop myself. I killed her, and once she was dead I continued to stab her. I blamed her for dieing. I killed my mom even though I knew deep down that she wasn’t the enemy and that she was just trying to help me,” Beth finished, stopping his arms from covering his ears.

Nathaniel tried to pull his hands free of her grip, “You were young and scared. You didn’t realize it…I don’t wanna hear this Bethany Mc Roa.”

Beth continued to keep his hands down, “You told me that I need to accept the fact that I’m going to be in a war in which is between God/Jesus and Satan. Well you need to accept the fact that I’m not perfect. That I am a murderer. That I have killed people just because I could. That I’m not the angel you think I am. That I could possibly kill you at any moment.”

Nathaniel shook his head, “You’re not perfect, no one but Jesus is. I do accept those things but that doesn’t stop me from liking you.”

Beth let go of his hands and pushed him down on his back, “You’re stupid then.”

“Ow!” Nathaniel yelped as he got pushed down. He quickly sat up, “Stupid and proud. You’re lucky I believe that you’re good or else Joanne would have thrown you to the curb once Chelsea went missing.”

Beth rolled her eyes, “You wouldn’t have stayed away from me either way.”

Nathaniel looked away, “So? You’re still lucky I like you and believe that you’re good because from what I just heard, it already sounds like you belong on Satan’s side.”

“Then let me be on his side.”

Nathaniel shook his head, “No can do. For one you don’t like Jill and for two, I really like you and I’m not going to let Satan have you.”

Beth smiled sadly, “That’s really sweet of you to say but Satan has more…powers than you. It is powers right?”

Nathaniel smiled, “So what? I was almost on his side but pulled through and made it to the good side. I have a lot more determination than that old fool.”

Beth laughed, “That old fool? I bet he’s pretty wise if he’s old.
Nathaniel smiled, “See I made you laugh. Let’s see if he can do that. And wise? If he was wise he would have given up this fight years ago.”

“Not necessarily. Wise doesn’t mean you give up when it gets tough or you know you’re probably going to loose.”

“Yea but he should know by now that he can’t win.”

Beth shrugged and stood up, “I wanna head there early. I’m curious.”

Nathaniel stood up, “Sure, just let me call Joanne and tell her,” he then took out his cell phone and called Joanne, “Hey Jo-Jo…yea this is Nathaniel. Beth and I are goin’ there right now. Beth decided she she wanted to be early…don’t worry we’ll be fine…we’ll take care of ourselves…no I haven’t done anything like that…okay whatever. We’re leaving now.”

Beth looked at Nathaniel, “What did she say?”

“She asked if we had done anything like kissing and the sort. She doesn’t want me to do anything like that with you till we find out,” Nathaniel replied sighing.

Beth rolled her eyes and walked to the edge of the front of the building, “How are we goin’ to get down?”

“Climb down, we should jump this high, but when we get down to at least the second story it should be fine to jump down,” Nathaniel said as he put his cell phone in his pocket and walked the edge with her, “Here, I’ll go down first and show you.”

Beth pulled him back and shook her head, “Nuh uh, no way. I’m going down first. You got to climb up first so I’m going down first.”

Nathaniel thought and shrugged, “Okay, just be careful.”

Beth turned around and hung her feet over the edge and started to climb down when she heard a car coming and froze. Nathaniel stood and saw a cop car, “It’s just some old cop car. They shouldn’t stop. Its not illegal to climb.” Beth nodded and continued to climb down as the car stopped at the house. Nathaniel sighed, “They stopped here.”

Ann Ply got out of the cop car and walked to the house and looked up at Beth and her eyes widened, “Beth what in the world are you doing?”

Beth gasped then smiled, “Just climbin’ with a friend. We got bored so we climbed on the roof, don’t worry. The Tervals know that I’m up here.”

“Do they know about your ‘friend’?”

Beth nodded and she slowly climbed down, holding onto the roof top still, “Yep, so don’t worry Miss Ply.”

Ann Ply sighed, “Just be careful Ms Mc Roa.”

“Will do, why are you here again?” Beth asked as she looked up at Nathaniel, who was silent as he stood there.

“Just checking up on you to make sure you’re okay. Do you like it here?” Ann replied.

Beth nodded, “It’s nice, they’re nice.”

Ann smiled and got back in her car, “Good bye then. I’ll come back sometime soon.”

Beth simply said, “Bye Miss Ply.”

Ann Ply left and Nathaniel sighed heavily, “Good she’s gone and not taking you away. Why did you say that they knew we were up here?”

Beth smiled as she let go of the roof with one hand, “Let’s just say the Tervals and I have an agreement, actually it’s more like arrangement. But either way you get my point.”

Nathaniel laughed, “You’re making it sound like you have a perfect life with them.”

Beth let reached down for something to grab but saw nothing as her hand slipped and she fell backwards and she let out a small yelp. Nathaniel stood there wide-eyed as he watched her fall. Beth’s eyes flashed black and she grabbed a hold of the wall and caught hold of a window sill and growled then her eyes turned back to normal, she was panting, “Close call, don’t you think?”

Nathaniel smiled and nodded, “Yea, super close call.”

Beth looked down and laughed then jumped and landed on the ground, “I managed to get a hold of the wall when I’m like five feet above the ground.”

“Five feet or three feet or ten feet, all that matters is that you’re safe,” Nathaniel said as he scanned the wall.

“True but how are you going to get down?” Beth asked as she scratched her head.

“I’m trying to figure that out right now,” Nathaniel said.

“Well when I could, what through me off was the fact that I couldn’t find anything to grab a hold of.”

Nathaniel nodded, “I saw that. Maybe I could jump down.”

“And break your legs? Great idea Einstein.”

Nathaniel sighed, “What else do you suggest I do?”

“Go to the back of the roof and climb down and get into my bedroom then walk across the hall into the room that’s face the front and climb out of that window and jump down and hope that you don’t hurt yourself to badly.”

“That’s a good idea but I don’t get the fun of climbing down.”

Beth rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest, “Then try to climb down and break your legs, that just means you won’t be able to be at the fight and see whose side I take.”

Nathaniel’s eyes widened, “I don’t want that. I’ll go with your idea, just don’t leave.”

Beth nodded, “Will do.” Nathaniel disappeared from sight and Beth sat down to wait. Beth heard a car slowing to a stop so she stood up and looked at the car.

Chelsea came out and grabbed Beth by her hands and held Beth’s hand behind her back and covered Beth’s mouth with the other hand, “Scream and you’re dead. Understand?”

Beth nodded slightly as she was pulled into the car and handcuffed with her hands behind her back. Beth groaned, “Where are you guy’s taking me? And Chelsea, I thought you were dead!”

Jill looked at Beth and giggled, “Nope, we just did some damage to her memory and everything about her. Now she’s on our side. Which you will be too.”

Beth’s eyes widened, “You are serious? Oh my god, you guys are insane. You guys are taking this school thing way too far.”

The driver turned around a corner and said, “Don’t pull that crap Beth. You know it’s true and you know whose side you belong on.”

Beth groaned, “I’m not going to be on anybody’s side.”

Chelsea shook her head, “Yes you will be Beth. You’re stuck in it just like the rest of us.”

The driver laughed, “Don’t recognize me Beth? It’s David, you are quite weird and I don’t know why he wants you but he does. He’s told us all about you, you’re a cold blooded killer. Just like the rest of us.”

Jill smiled, “Welcome to our side. David, Chelsea and me. I’m the leader and David…well he’s just the female attracter in which he kills them.”

“Are you saying he seduces girls and then kills them?” Beth asked amazed.

Jill giggles, “He did it to a gay dude once, I think his name was Seth.”

Beth’s eyes widened she tried to get free of the chains, “You killed Seth!? Everyone was so hurt and Daniel thinks I’m his sister! Why would you do that?”

David shrugged, “He came onto me one day and I was like uhh okay, sure. And yea, it went down hill from that. He’s the only dude I ever seduced and the only one I ever will.”

Jill smiled, “He was your older brother. His real dad wanted him and he took him away.”

Beth shook her head, “There is no way I have an older brother.”

Jill took out a picture shoved it in Beth’s face, “There, that’s proof. It’s a picture of his mom and you’re mom and you two together. He’s holding you.

Beth pulled back and looked at the picture and shook her head and squeezed her eyes shut, “I won’t believe it.”

Chelsea sat there silently and David continued to drive, “Why not?”

Jill poked Beth’s cheek, “Because she knows its true deep down. She remember him there and the next thing he was gone. She thought it was just a figment of her imagination.”

Beth groaned, “Why are you guys telling me this?! It’s just going to make me hate you guys more.”

“Hate is good and you have a lot of hate inside you. You’ve been able to contain it by killing. If you join his side then you will be a lot better off,” David said.

Jill nodded, “Yep and you get benefits from working for him. Chelsea knows that.”

Beth sighed and looked at Chelsea then at Jill, “She’s not the Chelsea I knew and loved. She different, she looks like Chelsea but she is completely different.”

Jill shrugged, “So, it’ll break their team up, as you’re already doing. You’re ruining them. Suspicion is all around them and they’re not sure. They have a tight bond but you’ve managed to destroy some trust in Nathaniel.”

David sighed, “I wish we would have gotten Nathaniel. It was just that dumb girl who made him go away from us. But who knows, maybe you can bring him back to our side.”

Beth shook her head, “I’m not going to be on your side or their side. I’m on my own side.”

Jill giggled and shook her head and kissed Beth’s cheek, “You poor thing. I know all about you, you’ve been on his side from the start. Evil birthday, evil doings, you just are on his side.”

Beth spit in Jill’s face, “I’m not anybody’s side, if I’m on someone’s side it will be…”

“Will be what? Whose side? His, the man, the supposed almighty god who loves and protects the innocent. If we remember correctly, he didn’t protect you or save you. He watched you as you got beat and raped and left to starve,” David said.

“How do you know so much about me?” Beth asked.

Jill wiped the spit off and raised her hand, “Me!! I told them, I know everything about you, and I got it from the one who has been on your side from the beginning. Satan.”

Beth laughed then said, “Oh joy, you all know about me.”

Jill nodded and pinched Beth’s cheek, “Yep. And you’re quite the efficient killer. You try to be good but can’t manage to.”

Beth rolled her eyes, “I can be good, I know I can.”

“And yet you haven’t managed to. You’ve gotten Nathaniel to fall in love with you when you know very well how well and how suddenly you kill others. You’ve put him in danger by being around him,” Chelsea said.

“Hold up Chelsea. It’s a good thing that he loves her. If she joins us which she will then he probably will and we will have the upper hand, “David said as he parked the car in front of a house, where a party had already begun.

Jill looked at Beth’s hands then unlocked her hands, Beth smiled and Jill said, “Don’t think you can get free. I’m the strongest here and you’re hands are stuck behind you’re back, it’ll just seem like you have them in your pockets.” Beth tried to pull her hands free but couldn’t and muttered. David got out of the car and Jill pulled Beth out of the car. Jill smiled, “Don’t look so grim, we know you’re going to be on our side, especially since you’re with us and not with them. Nathaniel thinks you left him and Joanne will be glad that she was right, right that you’re like the rest of us. You’re a killer like us.”

Beth growled, “I am not like you guys at all.”

Jill pulled Beth down to a table as David went to get drinks. Chelsea sat down beside Beth. Beth tried to look at Chelsea’s ankle but couldn’t for it was covered by her jeans. Jill broke Beth’s concentration, “Of course you’re like us.”

David came back with the drinks and put them down on the table. Jill looked at Beth’s hand and Beth smiled, “Thank you.” Beth then rubbed her wrists and looked at the brown drink, “What is it?”

“Soda,” David replied, “Do you think we’re stupid enough to get drunk on a day like this?”

Beth took a sip and started to drink it, “Yep I do.”

Chelsea just sat there. Jill giggled, “You’re welcome and don’t you dare think that about us ever again. We are quite smart and the best.”

Beth rolled her eyes, “Go dance Jill. Go away, all of you, go away and leave me alone.”

David gulped his down “Nope, no can do.” Jill nodded as she drank and watched the crowd. David looked at Jill and said, “Chill Jill. They’ll show up soon. They know that they have to.”

Jill nodded, “I know that. I’m just waiting to see what they do when they see their precious Beth sitting with us and chatting happily.”

Beth growled and her eyes flashed black and she tackled Jill, “I hate you Jill. You’re too stuck and annoying and nobody holds me captive for long.”

Jill’s eyes widened and a crowd started to form while screaming, and chanting “Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!!”

Jill tried to push Beth off of her but couldn’t, “You’re on our side and I wasn’t holding you captive. Why are you attacking me Febi?”

Beth stayed on Jill and bent down to her face, “That’s my old name. You must not have realized this but I’ve formed a bond with this human girl and I am now apart of her. Address me as Beth.”

Jill leaned up and bit Beth’s nose, “You’re still Febi, she may have been born with you but you aren’t supposed to attack me.”

Beth let out a howl and started to squeeze Jill’s wrist, “That’s what I was supposed to do, but I’m apart of her, there is no way to draw or to take me out and you know that as well as I do. I’m not Satan’s demon anymore, I’m hers. I am her protector and the reason why she does what she does. But that’s okay, she accepted me long ago and now I am apart of her soul.”

Jill yowled, “Let go of me!!”

Beth shook her head, “No way. The audience wants a fight so we might as well give them one,” Beth then rammed her knee in between Jill’s leg.

Jill screamed as David came up behind Beth and tried to pull her off of Jill. Chelsea grabbed a hold of David’s waist and pulled. After many tries they pulled Beth off of Jill. Jill sat up and inhaled deeply and said, “Bethany Mc Roa you will be on our side.”

Chelsea stopped and pointed, “They’re here.”

Jill rubbed where she was hit and looked at them and waved. Nathaniel was walking beside them looking down sadly. Joanne grinned when she saw Chelsea and ran up to Chelsea and pulled her into a tight hug saying, “You’re okay!! That’s great news!! I’m so glad you’re okay.”

Gary and Daniel fallowed behind her. Chelsea pushed Joanne away then punched her in the gut, “Don’t touch me.”

Beth’s eyes flashed back to normal, “It’s not the real Chelsea. Jill did something to her!!”

Joanne bellowed over and held her stomach then looked at Beth menacingly, “She didn’t do it, you did!!”

David laughed as he stood there but said nothing. Jill stepped forward and patted Chelsea on the back, “Glad you’re on our side. Beth did a good thing.”

Beth’s eyes flashed back as she grabbed her cup and broke it then looked at Jill then at David and tackled David, “I know you two are going out,” Beth held the shard of glass close to David’s next, “If you don’t shut up Jill, I’ll kill him.”

Jill’s eyes widened momentarily then went back to normal, “His power will stop you.”

Beth laughed and pressed the shard against David’s neck, “His only power is to make human females around him horny and to make them want him. But I’m not all human at the moment so it won’t work.”

David swallowed, “Stop her Jill!!”

Gary’s eyes widened, “David is on her side?! We should have known that!!”

Joanne stood up fully and glared at Gary, “Shut it Gary.”

Jill shrugged, “Go ahead, kill him, he doesn’t matter.”

Beth shrugged, “You’re lost of heart. Satan won’t bring him back, David never does anything that useful. He just kills girls, oh and Seth. He killed him to but that’s the only guy. David is unimportant, he’s just here to keep you happy.”

Daniel and Nathaniel’s eyes widened as they looked at Beth and said in unison, “David killed

him!?”

Jill bit her lip and shrugged, “You won’t kill him, I don’t believe you will.”

Beth nodded and shrugged, “Okay Jill,” Beth looked at David, “Sorry David, the girl you love doesn’t care enough, I guess love doesn’t conquer all,” Beth then sliced David’s neck before he could say anything. Jill held her stomach and tried to remain her posture. Beth started to turn David’s neck as he screamed as he died. Beth twisted his head and pulled up, breaking his head off of his body and she threw it at Jill, “Here’s you’re keep sake.”

Joanne swallowed hard, “She just….she just…he’s dead…neck ripped off…just dead.”

Gary stood there frozen, “She’s never killed a person like that.”

Nathaniel covered his eyes then smiled weakly, “At least she killed one of the bad guys. That means she’s on our side, right?”

Daniel swallowed hard and started to walk backwards away, “We can’t cover this up. We’ve never killed a person this way,”

Beth stayed sitting on David’s body as she got covered in blood and shrugged, “Well he’s dead now. Feel better now Jill?”

Jill burst into tears, “How can you just kill him that?”

Beth shrugged, “Just an ability I guess.”

Chelsea just stood there. Gary turned around and ran away with Daniel. Nathaniel walked toward Beth slowly, “Beth? Are you okay?”

Beth looked at Nathaniel, “Get me a knife, I got an idea.”

Nathaniel did as he was told and handed her a knife. Jill stood there, holding the head, “What are you going to do? Kill him more?”

Beth shook her head and started to cut the neck, trying cut off the torn part of the skin, “Nope, going to make it look like a knife accident, Nathaniel get me the strongest alcohol you can find.”

Jill’s eyes widened as she tears came down, “You’re crazy.”

Nathaniel did as he was told and handed Beth the bottle, “You’re stopping anyone from being blamed?”

Beth finished cutting the skin off and took the bottle then put the skin in Nathaniel’s hands, “Now to make him seem drunk,” Beth said as she lifted his dead body and pouts the alcohol down in it, “I’m not sure if this will work but at least the cut will seem to have been deliberately done.”

Nathaniel stared at the skin in his and swallowed hard. Joanne grabbed Chelsea’s arm, “Come on Chelsea, lets leave.”

Chelsea pulled her arm free of Joanne’s grip, “Don’t touch me, I’m with Jill now, not you.”

Beth poured the whole bottle down then dropped the dead body, “Jill erase their memories of this ever happening.”

Jill glared at her, “Why should I?”

Beth shrugged and took the skin from Nathaniel’s hand, “It’s that or you can deal with Satan and receive his punishment for not covering up.”

Joanne sighed, “But Chelsea you’re my friend, you’re on god’s side not Satan and Jill’s side.”

Nathaniel smiled and wiped his hands on his jeans, “Thanks for taking that away.”

Beth smiled and walked away saying, “No problem. I’ll just go put this in someone’s dumpster.”

Jill groaned and did as she was told then ran away with Chelsea fallowing her. Jill stood there and fallowed after Beth, “How dare you do that!”

Nathaniel fallowed them, “Why are you going to do that?”

Beth shrugged, “He made me mad. I told you all that I was a killer and Jill had pissed me off…I’m doing it so that nobody finds it.”

Joanne glared at Beth as she fallowed her, “You’re a murder who belongs in jail.”

“You say that but I just did you guy’s a favor. I killed one of the people you’re against.”

Nathaniel nodded, “That’s true, so that’s like her doing something in favor of god, so she’s on our side.”

Joanne glared at Nathaniel, “We’ve never killed anyone that way. That’s like stone age fighting.”

Beth dumped the skin into a trashcan and shrugged, “All I did was slit his neck and rip it off, what’s so stone age about that?”

Joanne reached up but stopped herself and said, “We don’t kill others in cold hard blood. We’d kill each other by making them kill themselves or like a little bit of hitting and punching and they’d die like that.”

Beth rolled her eyes as they flashed back to normal, “You’re way takes too long.”

Joanne shrugged, “But it’s the civil way to do it.”

“What’s so civil about making someone kill themselves and what’s civil about this pathetic war?” Beth asked.

“It’s better than ripping someone’s head off. And its our war. Whoever wins this war effects us.”

Beth rolled her eyes, “I’m going home, well to the Terval’s house and I’m going to have a shower.”

Joanne grabbed Beth’s shoulder, “Don’t ignore me. You receive pain when you do.”

Nathaniel lifted Joanne’s hand off of Beth’s shoulder, “Joanne go home. Drop it. The fight happened and we don’t know anything yet. You just have you’re suspicions. Go home and we can deal with this tomorrow.”

Joanne glared at Nathaniel but didn’t push any further. Beth smiled, “Thanks Nathaniel. See ya tomorrow.”
