New Moon Werewolves?

So a few days ago, I went to see New Moon at our local theater. I have to say that I did like at. At the ending my friend said it was a “action packed romance”. I do agree with him.

Anyways, about the werewolves. The werewolves themselves are wolves; a four-legged being. But these ones are absolutely huge. Here’s an image:

I think its awesome that these wolves are more ‘wolf’ than man. The texture of the wolf pack was stunning, especially their fur being blown in the breeze. Thumbs up to the CGI guys.

Now besides the love parts between Edward and Bella and Jacob (the werewolf), I have to say that this movie was really entertaining to watch. Many people criticizes that The Twilight Saga is a romance and the author (Stephanie Meyer) made vampires all wrong, but I don’t see why they do. The movie may have dull parts to those people who haven’t read the books, but the fight scenes are vary well done.

So all in all. This movie is one I would recommended.

The Controversy of Twilight – Sparkling Vampires

250px-TwilightbookEver since the release of the first book of Twilight in October 2005, there has always been controversy of the details in the book. One of these are the fact that inside the book, the vampires sparkle (*in the sunlight*). I myself wouldn’t have thought of the idea because I don’t write about vampires. These vampires in the book don’t have all of the qualities that are in the lore. So what?

To be honest and in my writers opinion, having vampires sparkle isn’t as different as Margaret Weis having her dragon’s communicate by thought and colors (in the series of Dragonvarld), or in fact having dragons have four or six limbs.

Far as I can tell, no one actually can control the lore of ANY mythical creature. Movies say werewolves can turn without a full moon and even in book, they don’t need it. Now I know the traditional aspect of a vampire is a creature in the night that drinks blood, be quieter than death, and having them burn in the sun. In many stories there are vampires that are gaunt and in others they are attractive and fatal. Some books have vampires just can’t stand the sun.
